STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE & NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT:

1. Peripheral hospitals like RTRM Hospital are an important need of the local population as well as that of the health system. If things can be managed in periphery, the work -load of bigger central hospitals would automatically reduce.
2. Delhi Govt. has taken some steps to improve functioning of hospitals like RTRMH, such as,

• • Enhancing financial powers of the MS as HOD under H&FW Dept.
  • Strengthening pre-hospital care by through larger fleet of ambulances under Centralized Accident & Trauma Service –CATS
  • Supply of drugs at cheap rates through Central Procurement Agency
